Unmerged lineages (kits):
The following two kits match rather closely with one another and also with a kit 84495 above. Kit 189276 and 191581 uniquely share a common value of 30 in DYS449... They also share a 37 in CDYa along with kit 84495 shown in the lineage above.
Kit 189276 This Phillips kit only matches well with 191581 and some with two other men of this line. He has a 13 at DYS393 which suggest he may be part of the line of "2. Nathaniel Phelps – b. 1626/27, Crewkerne, Somerset, England, d. 1702, Northampton, Hampshire, MA "
Revised 5/10/2010
1. John Phillips - b. c1786*, Yeovil, Somerset, England; d. 1834, Yeovil (*birth date calculated from c1806 marriage date)
2. Charles Phillips - b. 1815, Yeovil, Somerset; d. 1880, Bermondsey, London.
3. Charles Phillips - b. 1854, Bermondsey, London; d. 1925, ?Nottinghamshire, England.

5. Ronald Phillips - b. 1913, Laceby, near Grimsby; d. 1998, Grimsby.
Descendant Kit 189276 DYS393=13
Kit 191581 matches rather well with the William line - and very well with some of the kits.

Descendant 191581 DYS393=13
These two kits , 200429 and 161814, match well with this William line. They share a mutation of 11 at DYS391 which is often an indicator/tracer of a family branch. I personally place more emphasis on this than the genetic distance shown in our reports. However, curiously kit 55020 also has a 11 at DYS391 but he has a 12 at DYS393 rather than a 13 that 200429 and 161814 have. This is a bit perplexing. and might be explained as coincidence in the lineage of 55020. Interestingly he also has two other unique mutations.

Tables updated 4/27//2011
The below YDNA results table list all the men of this cluster. The first row of the first table shows the modal or most frequently observed value. and is often the value of the common ancestor. The calculated modal can be misleading with a small sample, but for now those values are most likely what may have been the y-dna of the common ancestor. The colors indicate the differences from the modal values. Tables were create using a tool found at this site which approximates the analysis at FTDNA.
FTDNA's comment: "It is obvious from our observation of 10's of 1000's of samples that some markers change or mutate at a faster rate than others. Therefore not all markers should be treated the same for evaluation purposes. The markers in red below have shown a faster mutation rate then the average, and therefore these markers are very helpful at splitting lineages into sub sets, or branches, within your family tree." FTDNA also says that when a red fast moving marker mutation alone implies a wrong branch, strong consideration or preference should be given to proven paper trails.

Genetic Distances (The number of differences, or mutations, between two sets of results. A genetic distance of zero means there are no differences in the results being compared against one another. ie an exact match)
The first row of the first table shows the modal or most frequently observed value. and is often the value of the common ancestor.
The analyses presented here uses a tool which simulates FTDNA's analysis. Similar data in these tables can be seen at your logon at FTDNA. Below is a table comparing every member of this line to every other line to show the genetic distances. Note the number of tested markers for each kit in the diagonals (12,25,37, 64). As you compare one kit to another, note the fewest number of markers tested of the two men and click on the appropriate link "FTDNA's intrepreting genetic distance" to understand the relatedness. A similar genetic distance is provided to each person logging in to FTDNA and asking for YDNA matches;
The genetic distance of each man to the modal or likely earliest ancestor is shown in column one.Note the number of tested markers in the white diagonals and then click on the blue FTDNA link for further information about the displayed distance number. The minimal number of markers tested between each man is considered.

Time to Most Recent Common Ancestor (in generations) Probability is 95% that the TMRCA is no longer than indicated
The table shows the number of generations within which one would expect to have a common ancestor with every other kit. - at a 95% probability. As you compare one kit to another, note the fewest number of markers tested of the two men (12, 25, 37, 64) in the white box on the diagonal. Fewer tested markers will lengthen the expected generations.) Similar information, expressed differently, is provided to each person logging in to FTDNA and asking for YDNA matches; for each match is a link to a FTDNATip report which shows several choices of generations within which a common ancestor is expected with a related probabilities. The analyses below was created using a tool which simulates FTDNA's analysis
CAUTION: Kits having more markers will influences the modal, causing them to be statistically nearer to the modal, which could be misleading.
When members login to ftdna and ask for matches they see only those matches with a "relevant" match as determined by FTDNA. Some near misses may not show up even when genealogy indicates a relationship. Below is a table comparing every man of this line to every other man, showing the number of generations within which they might share a Most Recent Common Ancestor.
